About this notice
This notice explains how HANDI processes personal information when you create and use a HANDI Account. More specific notices may apply when you choose to establish your institutional identity or use other HANDI functions involving additional personal information.
Information used for your Account
HANDI may process information such as your proposed display name, email address, authentication and security information, Account status, session information, and records showing which HANDI terms and privacy notices were presented and acknowledged.
Why HANDI uses this information
Account information is used to create and secure your Account, authenticate access, provide HANDI services, maintain institutional and security records, prevent misuse, communicate about your Account, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Identity establishment
Creating an Account does not by itself establish a canonical Person or HANDI institutional identity. If you proceed to identity establishment, HANDI will provide a separate Identity Establishment Privacy Notice before processing government-issued identity evidence and selfie or liveness information.
Public Identity
Public identity name
If you separately consent during Account creation and your identity establishment is later approved, HANDI may publicly display the full legal name established from authenticated identity evidence as your initial public identity name. HANDI will not treat the self-entered Account presentation name as an authenticated legal name. Under HANDI policy, an eligible recognized professional or common name may later become your preferred public display name without replacing or altering the underlying legal identity record.
Service providers
HANDI may use service providers where necessary to operate, secure, host, authenticate, or support the service. More specific disclosures will be provided where particular processing, such as identity authentication, requires them.
Data minimization and retention
HANDI aims to collect and retain only information reasonably necessary for its stated institutional, security, legal, and service purposes. Retention periods may vary according to the nature of the information and the reason it is maintained.
Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to be informed about processing, access personal information, request correction, object to certain processing, and request blocking or erasure where legally applicable.
Development Notice
Contact and further information
HANDI will publish its formal personal information controller and privacy contact details before production deployment. This development notice will be updated as HANDI's governance, retention, service-provider, and privacy procedures are finalized.
