Purpose
HANDI processes identity information and evidence to authenticate who you are, distinguish you from other people, resolve your identity against existing HANDI canonical Persons, and establish or link your HANDI institutional identity.
Information processed
Identity establishment may involve information from government-issued identity documents, document authenticity checks, legal identity information, issuing jurisdiction, selfie or facial information, liveness results, authentication results, and information necessary for identity and duplicate resolution.
Authentication Provider
Persona identity authentication
HANDI currently uses Persona as an identity authentication provider for government-issued identity document and selfie or liveness checks. Persona performs the authentication process, while HANDI separately records relevant authentication results and performs institutional identity and canonical Person resolution.
Sensitive Information
Sensitive identity information
Identity evidence may contain sensitive personal information. HANDI classifies pre-canonical identity establishment and authentication information as confidential and restricts access according to HANDI access-control and privacy requirements.
Identity resolution
A name alone does not establish identity. HANDI may compare authenticated identity evidence with existing canonical Persons to reduce duplicate or mistaken identity records. Where identity cannot be resolved with sufficient confidence, HANDI may require further assessment rather than creating or linking a canonical Person automatically.
Public Identity
Public display of your legal name
If you separately consented during Account creation, and your identity establishment is approved, HANDI may use the full legal name established from authenticated identity evidence as your initial public identity name. This public disclosure is separate from HANDI's confidential processing of your underlying identity evidence. An eligible recognized professional or common name may later become your preferred public display name under HANDI policy without replacing the underlying legal identity record.
What identity establishment does not mean
Identity authentication establishes evidence of who you are. It does not by itself verify professional licenses, credentials, affiliations, authority, claims, reputation, conduct, or institutional standing.
Retention and institutional history
HANDI may retain identity-establishment submissions, authentication results, assessment records, decisions, consent records, corrections, and supersession history where necessary for institutional integrity, provenance, security, accountability, and applicable legal obligations.
Withdrawal and privacy rights
Where HANDI relies on consent for identity processing, you may withdraw that consent subject to applicable law and the consequences of stopping further identity processing. Withdrawal does not automatically erase historical records that HANDI may lawfully need to retain. Other privacy rights may include access, correction, objection, and requests for blocking or erasure where legally applicable.
Development Notice
Production privacy information
Before production deployment, HANDI will finalize and publish its personal information controller details, privacy and data-protection contact information, retention standards, service-provider disclosures, cross-border processing information where applicable, and procedures for exercising data subject rights.
